UR Trending 2/13/2012

When in doubt, look it up!  Here's a quick look at what people are searching for on the internet, or at the very least google.

Twitter Tip of the Day: Don't buy that for a dollar.  Twitter is not a safe shopping platform.  Validate any coupon offers or sale offers through a third party verifiable source.

Trendsmap provides a dynamic look at what's been trending on twitter, and where.  You can search by location or by trend.

Without further ado, I give you, Google Trends.

20.  Smash - Oh that's right!  Please don't confuse this with the "smash" of "Jersey Shore" fame.  Speaking of "Fame"; NBC has a new show, it's a heartwarming tale about love and betrayal and stuff.  "Smash" follows the creation of a fictional broadway musical.  People who like this show have never worked in theater, or worked in theater but hate themselves.

19.  Woolly Mammoth - There is a video of a woolly mammoth out there, for the most part everyone is saying it's a hoax...  For the most part.

18.  Belize Resorts - Cats are looking into the "best Belize has to offer".  On Valentines Day.  This is the travel industry saying "Stay the f*ck away from Greece and Italy for the love of Christ!"

17.  Shel Silverstein - Is already dead and not even on this date!  A perfect storm of google searches coupled with the United Way canceling their event yesterday has caused this trend to peak.

16.  Valentines Day cards - From all of us last minute bastards to all of you.  Happy VD.

15.  Azores - An itty bitty island in the Atlantic Ocean, itty bitty Portuguese island to be exact.

14.  The Voice - Season Two still rolling on.  Last night was the third round of blind auditions, we have a decent showing from Boston, so tune in next week if you're so inclined.

13.  Hearts - This is the most exciting news having to do with hearts that I can find. Stem cells harvested from a patients own heart can be used to help repair muscle damage during and after a heart attack.  Although if you're into that whole Valentines Day thing, google may be trending on the "heart" topic because of that.

12.  Dog Show - This isn't what I thought it was... The Westminster dog show kicked off yesterday.  Even kennel clubs are not exempt from protests, Dogs Against Romney showed to protest the Westminster opener.

11.  Flower Delivery - For that last minute gift idea that will make all the office girls and boys jealous.  Flowers.  The dry hump of Valentines gifting.

10.  Niki Minaj Grammy Performance - Pissed off the Catholics by performing her new single "Roman Holiday".  Don't worry Niki, bitches just be hatin'.

9.   Free Ecards - For the cheap bastard in all of us.

8.   Obama Budget - Obama's budget was released yesterday.  Near as I can tell the new budget strikes a perfect balance of doing the right thing for one party and pissing the other party off.  Do the right thing, find out more about this.  It's an election year and tomorrow is the last day to register to vote in Massachusetts for primary election.  You too can be a revolutionary.  Fucking vote.

7.   Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter - The trailer for the movie of the same name was recently released.  Nerds everywhere are 'gasming.

6.   Media Matters - Fox News is all over this Media Matters for America may or may not be "closely coordinating" with the White House and the Obama administration on getting re-elected.  Conservative media is pissed.

5.   Chocolate Covered Strawberries - Don't forget, it's f*cking Valentines Day!

4.   Randy Moss - May or may not be coming out of retirement.  People may or may not care.

3.   Matt Bomer - Is out of the closet, and no one is surprised.

2.   Nevis - An island in the West Indes where the hard working folks of 'Merica can go and spend their hard earned money in a rightfully depressed economy.  But beware rich friends, you may be happened upon by a machete wielding madman who will take your money!

1.   Kate Upton - Is on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition.  I'm glad sex once again dominates google trends, I got scared when the Grammys took over.
