Fat Tuesday at Church of Boston

After a successful January residency at Church of Boston, the My Secret Boston, Secret Sessions crew is at it again full force! For the month of February, MSB is bringing you another free month of music headlined by Elephant Wrecking Ball.

EWB was founded by Scott Flynn of the well known reggae group John Brown's Body. Scott wails on trombone and uses effects pedals to create a soundscape unheard of in the Boston music scene. Also with an experienced rhythm section consisting of Dan Africano on bass, and Neal Evans on drums, who play together in the band Cashed Fools. The entire trio attended Berklee College of Music. To wrap up their residency at Church on February EWB will have Grinder Monkey and Rapplesauce as openers, so be sure to make your way out to Church of Boston this month! Starting on March 5th, Church will be hosting a free music residency featuring Otis Grove.

Coming up this Tuesday February 21st at Church, not only can you partake in a free night of music with Elephant Wrecking Ball, Brighton Beatz and The Hornitz, but you can also celebrate Fat Tuesday and kick off your Mardi Gras with Jim Beam! The Restaurant at Church of Boston will be hosting "A Night On Bourbon Street", a scrumptious 5 course dinner meal for only $50! That's right 5 courses, each accompanied by a different brand of whiskey, for just $50 so call for reservations now.

The first course is Crab Maison served in the traditional fashion on bibb lettuce cups accompanied by Basil Hayden, followed by Crawfish Etouffe served over jasmine rice complimented by Jim Beam Rye.  The third course is Andouille Stuffed Quail, Maque Choux, and Smoked Tomato Jus served with Knob Creek, the fourth offering in this fantastic meal deal is Burbon Brined Pork Tenderloin and red bean succotash, Peychaud's Bitters, and a creamy beurre blanc complimented by Knob Creek Single Barrel 120. What better way to wrap up a meal fit for a king than a brown sugar and pecan whipped, Cloumage stuffed King's Cake drizzled with sweet buttermilk icing and topped off with The Devil's Cut! Dinner starts at 6:30 pm and is scheduled by reservation only. Space is limited so act fast because you don't want to miss out on this fantastic deal.

My Secret Boston has even more up their sleeve! They'll be starting another free residency at Storyville, the new basement space formerly known as Saint, in Copley Square on Wednesday February 22nd. The first two shows of this residency will be featuring a personal favorite of mine, Dub Apocalypse, an all-star line up of some of Boston's best musicians together on one stage to bring you a fantastic, face-melting dub and reggae filled evening of great local music. This week's lineup at Storyville is Johnny Trama on guitar (Ghosts of Jupiter), Tommy Benedetti on drums (John Brown's Body), Mike Rivard on bass (Club d'Elf), Jeff Lockhart on guitar (Wally's Tuesday funk, professor at Berklee), and Scott Aruda on trumpet (Sea Monsters).

The show is 21+ and starts at 9pm with free street parking at the venue. Jeff Wallace and the My Secret Boston team have been working hard to put the Boston music scene back on the map, and are doing a great job! You don't want to miss out!
